Smile Ogun energy Matrix

Alafia too all:

The more I do the work in this tradition the more results I'm seeing. Since about four years ago when I finally found out my Orisha energy is Ogun, I've been having such changes in my life. For example I was always the kind of person who didn't like to commit myself to anything and one day that came perfectly clear to me. I feel that the Ogun energies are helping me get rid of those things within me to help me reach a greater level of peace etc.

This morning I did have a great experience. I don't really have a concencrated Ogun pot but what I do have is an old cast iron pot that is filled with all sorts of metal's and other items. This pot also has four railroad spikes in it and a knife. I also placed it on a large stone in my basement as that's the only place I can keep it(too keep the cat's away). I placed two Machete's on the stone and well I'll post pictures.

Anyway when I started to triangulate with the Ogun Matrix I felt such profound sense of freedom and strength. I focused on what Ogun represents and the more I did this the more I felt the energy. Now something did happen that I'm not sure about. I offered Ogun some red palm oil and set it down. Just then I felt that I needed to pick up the bowl that I have the palm oil in and touch it to my forehead, the top of my head, and to the back of my neck. I felt that this was right and did it.

I do feel so much stronger and I was wondering if doing what I did was correct? Any feed back will be great....

Ashe,

Myron Wells(Omo-Ogun)

Default rule #1

Rule#1 is not to be afraid to create your own rules. It is all about the individuals triangulating (connecting) to the orisa energy they seek to work with. While it is true that we have developed a host of proven connections over centuries, that does not preclude the individual for vreating their own.

Only caveat: do not violate taboo ( there are FAR fewer than you would expect)

Default Taboo

Is there a list of basic taboo somewhere that I can look at?

Default Taboo vs. common sense...

The entire concept of "taboo" seems disempowering. It is based more on fear of what will happen if the supposed taboo is violated, then the common sense that created the information.

For example, offerigng liquor or palm oil to Obatala is based on common sense, not Divine Rules. When attempting to connect with the energy of Clarity ( Obatala) it wouldn't make saense to use a clarity distorting material such as liquor. The palm oil was somewhat a stretch in that it implied you needed a "clear view" and it's very darkness would make that difficult.

If you keep in mind that "taboos" are simply observational instructions based upon trial and error, and not proscriptions from God, you will have a greater chance of empowering yourself as Ifa intended.

It is a mistake to believe that people will only learn through fear rather than clarity. It would be like making it taboo to stick a screw driver into the electrical wall plug in your home.
